Blue Nest was born out of a shared love to design and create one of a kind handmade goods.
We make things that make us happy, and hopefully make you smile as well!
Our Story
All pieces are produced locally in our atelier in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. This is the place where we are at ease, where tools, creativity and craftmanship are at our fingertips! All our products are designed and created by the two of us, Katja and Anouk.
Our inspiration comes from our everyday lives, our travels and our love for beautiful fabrics and color schemes. But it always takes some trial and error to make it just right. When starting, we sketch and experiment with lots of colors and fabrics. We pay a lot of attention to detail to give our pieces that little extra. We just love to see how it all comes together!
After the design is decided upon, each piece is hand-cut and sewn individually. When making our pieces, we work on a small scale. We choose our fabrics consciously and keep in mind the productive use of our resources. That is why we buy our materials in limited amounts to keep waste to a minimum. We work with small batches and choose fabrics that are available at that specific moment in time. This is what we love about our brand. Not a single collection is ever the same!
